HOW DOES A CAT ON A BOWLING BALL AND THE DESTRUCTION OF A FEW GOOD CAKES WIN A DESIGN AGENCY NATIONWIDE ACCLAIM?
A design company based in Rendlesham are receiving national acclaim through winning a pre-promotional account for a popular author. Add Design, scooped this major contract through previous work for Paul Hammond, author of humourous novels about the game of Bowls and Director of "Wild About Birds", a business stocking ornithology products. Paul's book "Going Indoors – The Continuing Adventures of a Not So Innocent English Game and Those That Try to Play It!", published by Jenner Publications has been on sale from 1st November. Paul is currently doing a nationwide bookstore signing and promotional tour. The pre-promotional work involved larger than-life-cats, an award winning cake being flattened by a bowling ball and a very upset member of the WI - all to support the storyline of the book.
Justin Firth, Co-Director of Add Design says: "The book focuses on the sleepy town of Lower Southborough and the chaos which unfolds with the start of a new bowling season. Our pre-promotional creative work, ideas and designs mirror the nature of the book. It was important for us to capture the vibrancy, colourful characters and tongue-in-cheek humour which everybody loves in Paul's writing."
Paul Hammond, Author of "Going Indoors" says: "Whilst illustrations in the book were created by Sonya Burrows, Add Design performed sheer magic in all pre-promotional work, really bringing the idea of the book to life. The result is that we have attracted significant publicity thanks to their creative campaign."
Add Design's creative campaign involved a colourful pre-promotion of the book including 35,000 cut out flyers sent to bowling clubs nationwide, 12 large free-standing cartoon cats for display in bookshops, photography, posters and a local and national advertising campaign. They will also be re-designing Paul's jennerpublications.net website and the covers for Paul's previous novels.
Climbing towards the top 1000 and with the backing of a large distributor, "Going Indoors" is now being considered a best seller and has already received a rave review from The Times. Tescos, Waterstones and Amazon are amongst respected stockists. Other titles from the series include "The New Season" and "The Bowling Club" - which is currently the number 1 bestselling Bowls Book in the UK.
